First do no Harm – Hippocrates
Asia Carrera (born Jessica Steinhauser on August 6, 1973) is a former adult film actress known for her work in the 1990s and early 2000s. Her heritage is a blend of German and Japanese ancestry, and she grew up in New Jersey, where she was an exceptional student. She is particularly well-known for her intelligence, having been a member of Mensa International, a high-IQ society, which helped her stand out in the adult entertainment industry.
Before entering the adult film world, Asia had a highly academic and artistic background. She played piano at Carnegie Hall twice before the age of 15 and won a full academic scholarship to Rutgers University. However, she left her academic pursuits to enter the adult film industry at the age of 22.
Carrera quickly became one of the top stars in the industry and appeared in over 400 films during her career. She won several industry awards, including AVN (Adult Video News) Awards. Known for being articulate and outspoken, she often talked about the challenges and misconceptions related to her work in the adult industry.
She retired from adult films in the early 2000s and has since lived a more private life, focusing on her personal interests and family. Carrera has been open about her struggles with personal tragedy, including the sudden death of her husband, Don Lemmon, in 2006, which deeply affected her life.
